  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Bob Curran was born and raised in the Mourne Mountain region of County Down, Northern Ireland. Leaving school, he worked in a variety of jobs, including manual and clerical work, in the Civil Service, and as a journalist. While love of folklore and other cultures never left him, he left Northern Ireland for a time.

On his return, he went to university and then into teaching. He later returned to university to complete a PhD and lecture. He has written many books in various languages—Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Russian, French, and Polish, to name several. He has also produced a number of comics both in America and Eastern Europe, and has recently founded the Fool Moon imprint in both Europe and the US.

Although officially retired, he has served as an advisor to the Northern Ireland Assembly, and more recently has returned to university to head a major project on the Spanish Armada in Ireland. He currently lives on the Irish north coast with his wife and family.
